DBeta commented on Michael Bay is a Drug - And It's Time to Quit
A lot of that movie was meant to be a joke. I enjoyed it overall, but the constant attempt at comic relief through cheap humor as probably the worst part. Any part that didn't have giant robots fighting with explosions had to have cheap humor or sexy women. But I did enjoy the movie. I had fun watching it. At the end of the day, that's the best I can expect from a movie like this.
I didn't go to the Transformers movie expecting a well thought out plot with characters I felt a connection to and I didn't go see it for a cinematic masterpiece that would forever change movies as we know them. I went to see giant robots blowing shit up with a random mix of hot women and a few laughs thrown in for good measure. It fell short on the humor, and there weren't many hot women, but the giant robot fighting scenes were pretty good, and the CGI was absolutely amazing. If I didn't know that CGI existed, I would have thought that movies either had giant puppets with well hidden strings, or someone actually created giant robots that transformed into vehicles. And the geek in me says that's enough for the price of admission.
